The Band
Meet us! We are friends who became a band. Lyrically devout and expressive, our original songs bring a message of spiritual reconciliation through powerful vocals, piano, flute, harmonica, marimba, bass, drums, and percussion instruments. Our genres cover jazz, folk, blues, neosoul, gospel, and rock. With over 25 years experience in performing, we perform originals and cover sets of feel-good songs for concerts, festivals, private venues, and community events. We also are artists with Tidewater Arts Outreach.
What is this album?
Songs and stories and metaphors. Spiritual perspective shifts that only can come through time and sitting unrushed.
These songs are healing. This album is making meaning on a musical journey inviting you to come as you are. You will find God to be more kind and yourself to be more valued than you may have been told. All are welcome.

ORIGINAL Songs
October release: JUST BELIEVE ME (Blues)
This intimate, bluesy song is a prayer from God's heart to yours. "I'll be your mom, your dad, redeem the past that all went wrong, I'm gonna get you through your storm and bring you back to something new. I've got the strength to see you through. Just believe Me."
September release: UNEXPECTED LORD (Rock Ballad)
This rock ballad song has a 1970s vibe and captures the raw feelings of disciples past and present standing against systems of hate and control through the unrelenting power of love. The driving beat and gritty electric guitar explores the seemingly upside-down Kingdom - God is silently kind, yet powerful. God is inifinitely mine, yet for EVERYONE. A reminder not to let others define who you are, but to know it WILL show it out through time.

Recorded in one take one night at VOX Studios Live. This song is about getting through hurt and doubt to healing a step at a time and knowing that God will never leave you. Featuring marimba and flute.

May release: WITH EACH NEW STEP (jazz)
An original jazz piece featuring marimba and flute exploring themes of God walking with us through discovery, doubt, and hurt to healing. Using language and themes Habakkuk 3:19, Psalm 23:3-4, Proverbs 3:6, Matthew 28:20, Matthew 9:1-8, and Israel walking from Egypt to Promised Land.
April release: MERIBAH (blues gospel)
This song has an old school revival feel. Meribah is a Hebrew word that means "fussing/ fighting" and in this song, we go through Old Testament history of how we all can be in that push/pull relationship with God. Can we receive His love and lay down our attempts to do it all ourselves?
